EBSN Annual Conference 2013 - Effective workplace literacy programmes in New Zealand - presentation of research results
Eingesandt von Zoltan Varkonyi
This presentation is given on the Annual Conference of the European Basic Skills Networks (EBSN) in Madrid in 2013. The title of the conference is ‘Opening doors - Developing partnerships for basic skills training beyond the classroom’.
The presentation summerises the conclusions of research on the impacts of government funded workplace literacy programmes implemented in New - Zealand in between 2007-11. The work place literacy programmes had two purposes: to improve workplace productivity as well as to improve New Zealand adults' literacy and numeracy skills.
Beside assessing the impacts on the participants as well as on the workplace, the research outlined the key features of high impact workplace literacy courses and efficient methodologies.
