Education and Training Foundation (ETF) - toolkit to harness students' digital capabilities

Sprache: EN

Eingesandt von NSS UK

The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) has launched a new toolkit that can be used to harness students’ digital skills and support learning, teaching and assessment. The project has been through a number of pilots, ensuring that the best possible end product has been reached – the toolkit provides a step-by-step guide to encourage staff-student partnerships and includes a wealth of downloadable models, approaches, case studies and tools. The toolkit is completely free of charge.

Four prestigious colleges contributed to the development of the pilots that informed the final product, including Basingstoke College of Technology, City Lit, Heart of Worcestershire College and Bishop Auckland College. Feedback from students and teachers proved that the toolkit enables a higher awareness of technology and how these can be used to advance teaching and learning.

The development of the toolkit can be attributed to discussions among FE practitioners that expressed a need for greater understanding of current technologies among teachers. Learners are frequently technologically advanced and always in need of building digital skills for the future, ultimately requiring teachers to have excellent digital skills themselves.

The toolkit can be downloaded for free from the ETF Excellence Gateway and will be most beneficial for FE teachers and practitioners.
