Second Polish-British Science Forum: Women in STEM

A unique event that celebrates the best of science collaboration between Britain and Poland and the work of women in STEM, presenting a number of keynote speakers who will discuss the challenges and opportunities experienced by women in STEM. The event will give special consideration to AI and the impact that machine learning has on society and gender equality. Both countries have sought to enhance gender inclusion in STEM and attendance at the event will allow delegates to explore new collaborative opportunities and partnerships.

Location: Day 1 = Polish Embassy in London, 47 Portland Place, W1B IJH; Day 2 = Senate House, University of London, Malet St, London, WC1E 7HU 

Ticket price: Free 

The event will feature presentations and talks by leading women working in STEM and a group of top Polish and British Ed-Tech companies will also be in attendance, enabling delegates to meet with representatives. 

The first of these collaborative events took place last year and follows an agreed action between Poland and Britain to boost links between the countries. The second Polish-British Science Forum will allow government officials, educators, researchers and ed-tech entrepreneurs to form connections and learn about collaboration in STEM, as well as the work and experience of women in the sector; collaborative opportunities within a data-driven economy; and the impact of new technology such as AI and machine learning. 

Keynote speakers include:

  • Katarzyna Walczyk-Matuszczyk from National Contact Point Warsaw
  • Teresa Zielinska from Warsaw University of Technology 
  • Helen Wollaston from WISE
  • Olga Malinkiewicz from Saule Technologies 
  • Professor Carole Mundell from the Foreign Commonwealth Office
