Our project IC Life (InclusiveCampus Life) promotes and supports the inclusion of people with an intellectual disability. To achieve this, a concept for inclusion of young adults with Intellectual disabilities on higher education campuses has been developed and deployed by four universities in Europe, together with associated partners with experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities. Please feel free to check our website at www.iclife.eu.

The project has now run for three years and has reached its final phase. We therefore want to draw your attention to the final event of the project taking place 27-28 November 2019 in Brussels. In this two-day conference we will host numerous workshops with specialists in the field: people with intellectual disabilities, teachers, researchers and others.

Please discover the attached programme, which contains a 'best-of' of our most popular workshops of former IC Life events in The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Finland and Belgium, as well as other lectures given by experienced speakers. People with an intellectual disability will of course play an important role in the event. They will present, lead workshops, will take care of musical interludes, etc.

Next to this, we’ve also set up an attractive social program, consisting of a marvellous Belgian-style conference dinner on Wednesday evening at "Chez Leon", in the heart of the city center of Brussels. Serving specialties from a good piece of Belgian beef, to mussels and vegetarian options alongside Belgian beers, this place is a must visit.

Furthermore, on Thursday afternoon, we offer four options to explore interesting aspects of the vibrant city of Brussels. You can pick from the following options:

  • · A visit to the city centre where a tour guide will show you the absolute highlights;
  • · A guided tour of the African Matonge neighbourhood, chronicling the historic presence of the Congolese community in Belgium. You will be able to taste some of the "couleur locale";
  • · A guided tour of the world-famous Magritte museum, one of Belgium's most famous surrealist painters of all time;
  • · A guided tour and tasting at the Cantillon Brewery, known for their Kriek and Gueuze beers with the typical sour and fruity taste.
