Dear EPALE colleagues,

Happy winter holidays!

With the holidays just around the corner, EPALE stays busy as ever finishing off content for the end of the year and making plans for 2016. The adult learning sector has also been working hard to make changes in Europe – expert Simon Broek reflected on developments in the sector in 2015 in his recent blog post (EN).

Great content in December

On 3 December we celebrated International Day of Persons with Disabilities (CZ, DA, ET, HR, EN, FR, DE, IT, PL, ES, RO, SL, FI, SE). Don’t miss out our interview with Maria Schejbal on her involvement in the project ‘Cultural Vehicles for Education’ (EN). Find out also what Franz Wolfmayr, President of the European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) believes are the main barriers to inclusive education (EN, DE).

EPALE International Volunteer Day was on 5 December. Hear from a volunteer practitioner in this inspirational piece by Ross Clarke – a specialist in CLIL (content and language integrated learning) and volunteer ballroom dance instructor (EN). And if you haven’t already, check out EPALE’s case study on ‘I Volunteer!’ and the invaluable role of volunteers in adult education (EN).

On 10 December EPALE we also observed International Human Rights day (CS, DA, ET, HR, EN, FR, DE, PL, LT, PT, RO, SK, SL, FI, SE).  Find out why multilingualism is such an important tool when integrating immigrants from Alex Rawlings – a man who speaks 11 languages (DE, EN, ES, FR, IT, PL). As part of our series of content we published on that day, read our case study on ‘FORWARD’ – an outstanding Grundtvig project whose aim was empowering migrant women (DE, EN, ES, FR, IT, PL).

News from around Europe

In December the adult learning sector remained dynamic as always:
