POLSKI.INFO – Free platform for learning the Polish language

The multilingual website offers multimedia content, interactive and stimulating exercises and reading texts. The discussion forum also provides users with the opportunity to exchange ideas and to apply their newly acquired language skills directly. There is a variety of activities on polski.info for both ambitious users and those who only want to acquire a basic knowledge of Polish.

The Internet is one of the most valuable and effective sources of information and has become an indispensable medium, especially for learning foreign languages. The interactive platform polski.info can be used online free of charge and effectively teaches the basics of the Polish language, which is considered the second largest Slavic language after Russian. Therefore, polski.info combines learning material about life and traditions in Poland with thematically related lessons on everyday language. These materials help the users of polski.info to quickly make themselves understood in Polish, to gain insights into everyday life in Poland, to understand the people there better and thus even to improve their chances on the job market. The platform is designed for motivated learners of Polish as well as for employees with various qualifications, students who are planning to move to Poland or already live there, pupils, tourists or residents of border areas.

The motivation of the partnership for the development of the above-mentioned website is particularly high, as all partners have been active for years in the field of language training, the promotion of languages and European multilingualism. The interdisciplinary consortium consists of six European partner organisations from different fields, which are jointly responsible for the successful and high-quality implementation of the project contents: Uniwersytet Pedagogiczny im. Komisji Edukacji Narodowej w Krakowie (Polen), Studio GAUS GmbH (Deutschland), Ostravská univerzita (Tschechien), Vytauto Didžiojo Universitetas (Litauen), Edukácia@Internet (Slowakei), und Inter-kulturo d.o.o. (Slowenien). With this project, the partnership aims to contribute to the development of computer-based learning and create an openly accessible educational resource.
