La soledad no deseada es uno de los hechos sensibles que afecta a muchas mujeres en su proceso de envejecimiento. No sólo por el hecho de tener una mayor esperanza de vida, sino por los cambios en los modos de vida y en nuestra sociedad. Pero también hay un tipo de soledad que permite a muchas mujeres desarrollar su autonomía y poner en marcha proyectos aplazados por haber dedicado buena parte de su vida al cuidado de otras personas.

It is not uncommon for aging to be seen today as a crisis and as a deficiency, although in the study of aging the so-called deficiency theories are considered overcome. Aging is manifested not only in losses but also in gains. Third-age people are becoming more aware that they are finally having time for themselves and meeting their needs and interests. One of them is certainly the need for education. In this paper, we will just deal with the education of third age persons in the function of their development and self-realization of personality.

Imajući na umu da model Sveučilišta za treću životnu dob sve više dobiva na važnosti, iznose se rezultati provedenog istraživanja koji je imao za cilj ispitati ulogu Sveučilišta za treću životnu dob u Rijeci kao jednog od institucijskog modela cjeloživotnog obrazovanja za osobe treće životne dobi.

Istraživanje fenomena nasilja maloljetne djece nad roditeljima je socijalno, psihološko-pedagoški i andragoško aspektirano suočavanje s nekim izazovima obiteljskih odnosa koji još uvijek u društvu predstavljaju tabu temu. Na temelju rezultata istraživanja navedenog problema koje se u radu navodi u tijeku je kreiranje programa podrške osnaživanja obitelji i cjeloživotnog obrazovanju kao važne pretpostavke prevencije asocijalnih ponašanja i doprinosa boljoj kvaliteti života važnog strateškog cilja u razvitku Europe.

2020 was definitely the year to explore the links between adult learning and health and wellbeing, highlighted by our experience of COVID-19. The articles in the Learn Well Live Well: Adult Learning and Health and Wellbeing report (to be published by the end of 2020) cover health literacy, physical wellbeing, mental health and resilience, older people, workplace wellbeing and the role of learning cities. These are illustrated by 16 local case studies, grounding the theory and research in practice. The report was prepared by the Northern Ireland Impact Forum on Adult Learning and Belfast Learning City as part of the UK EAAL Programme, with an Introduction from UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning.

Ao longo de dois anos letivos (2014/2015 e 2015/2016), investigadores, professores, alunos e colaboradores não docentes da Universidade de Évora desenvolveram a sua atividade académica normal, acrescentando uma nova preocupação a todas as restantes: como transformar o resultado do seu trabalho numa oportunidade de aprendizagem para pessoas que, normalmente, não frequentam a instituição, não se sentando nas salas de aula, não participando nas aulas laboratoriais e não assistindo às conferências.

The intersection of disability and aging often presents obstacles and discomfort for older people with disabilities keen to access mainstream opportunities for social participation. Besides individual situations and preferences – disability-based or not – environmental and social factors may limit full access to participation for older people with disabilities. Although ageist and ableist trends of contemporary ideas of aging have been documented, few studies have examined how those discourses are enacted in the field.

In December 2020 the COMENSI project comes to a closure. Community Engagement for Social Inclusion is an EU funded Erasmus+ project aimed at developing more effective methodologies of inclusion and activation of citizens at risk of exclusion. COMENSI developed and tested accessible tools and methods for communication, networking and organising to improve the capacity of citizens to engage in projects and social initiatives.

The project developed three main outputs during its duration:

- a methodological toolkit for the intervention in disadvantaged neighbourhoods;

Dezember erscheinen täglich neue thematische Beiträge zu Inklusion, Mehrsprachichkeit, Digitalisierung und politische Bildung. Projektträger gewähren Einblicke in ihre Aktivitäten und berichten in Form von Podcasts und Videobeiträgen, was sie erlebt haben und welchen Mehrwert die Projekte für sie und ihre Einrichtung darstellen!

Die aktuelle COVID-19-Krise hat weltweit und in fast allen Lebensbereichen zu gravierenden Beeinträchtigungen geführt. Sie hat gezeigt, wie wichtig Grundkompetenzen sind, wenn es darum geht, die Menschen beim Umgang mit und der Anpassung an unerwartete Veränderungen zu unterstützen, und uns auch deutlich vor Augen geführt, dass wir darauf nicht vorbereitet waren. Wie so oft haben die gefährdetsten Gruppen am meisten darunter zu leiden. Diejenigen, die nicht über funktionale Lese-, Schreib- und Rechenfertigkeiten sowie digitale Kompetenzen verfügen, haben ungenügenden Zugang zu den Ratschlägen der Gesundheitsbehörden bzw. können nicht einschätzen, ob andere Arten von Informationen, die bei ihnen ankommen, jedoch oft nicht aus zuverlässigen Quellen stammen, richtig sind.

Positive Ageing Month was a month-long campaign of events and activities for older people recognising and celebrating the contributions of older people to their communities and the wider society.  Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre were illuminated purple on 1 October 2020 to support and recognise International Day of Older Persons which was a perfect start to the month-long campaign during October. The virtual launch set the scene for the third year of Positive Ageing celebrations, with a sing-a-long and warm welcome from the Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Chris Smyth, South West Age Partnership and Western Health and Social Care Trust.

CONNECTOR is a traditional event, which unites various stakeholders in education (teachers, adult educators, parents, learners, decision-makers). This year the main topic is "Vulnerability in education".

Challenges of the year 2020 demonstrated how vulnerable we all are, it revealed our weaknesses and areas of development, made us live and work in new ways.

This year the event will take place during several days: December 14–17, 2020.

Tikšanās iemesls bija kopīgi uzsākt veidot metodikas rokasgrāmatu mentoriem-amatniekiem, kas turpmāk būs labs ceļvedis ne tikai amatniekiem, bet jebkuram interesantam, kas vēlēsies nodot savas amata prasmes sociālā riska grupas cilvēkiem, tos apmācot vai iesaistot radošās darbnīcās.

A medida que ha aumentado la esperanza de vida, ha crecido en todo el mundo el interés por el aprendizaje en la edad adulta, sobre todo porque ahora hay una cantidad considerable de investigaciones encaminadas a establecer un vínculo entre la continuación del aprendizaje y una mejor salud y bienestar, así como a abordar las cuestiones del aislamiento y la soledad. Pero, ¿necesitamos adoptar un enfoque más crítico de estas cuestiones?
