eLeSI — e-learning for Social Inclusion

Who is the eLeSI training for?

The training is open to everyone: teachers, family members, carers and practitioners working with people with learning disabilities (UK)/ intellectual disabilities (USA) ,autism spectrum conditions, and/or mental health problems. It has a transnational focus. There is no prerequisite in terms of diploma or level of previous qualification.

The training is currently available in French, English, Spanish and Romanian

How can I access the training ?

The training is available via e-learning, on free access from September 2015. The e-learning system allows the learner to go through the training at their own pace from any location. To begin the training go to the “e-Learning” tab, you’ll have direct access to the e-learning platform. You can also access the platform from the following website :elearning.elesi.eu.

What content does the e-learning include?

The training is based on the on the main principles of the United Nations Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities  (2006) The training facilitates the acquisition of knowledge regarding the origin and possible consequences of disabilities and/or disorders, it helps people to learn about the factors which may support, or conversely impede, social inclusion. The pedagogy of the training is based on socio-constructivism: case study, interactivity and possibility of tutoring for learners on one or several module(s).

Who created the e-learning modules?

The eLeSI training results from a European Project. The contents were created by 3 European universities (from France, Belgium, UK) with the participation of 2 associations which have experience of working with children and adults with varying disabilities and their families (from Benin and Romania).  An associated partner from Switzerland also participated.
