Positive effects of the Erasmus + project "Compare Digital Curricula for Health and Social Care Education" on Ljudska univerza Rogashka Slatina

The Erasmus + project Compare Digital Curricula for Health and Social Care Education has had quite a big impact on Ljudska univerza Rogaška Slatina considering the digitalization of learning contents.

Since the beginning of the project the number of learners in the vocational program Nursery has increased, many learners coming from other areas of Slovenia, which makes it more difficult for them to attend face-to-face lessons. Therefore, being encouraged and inspired by the Compare Digital Curricula for Health and Social Care Education project, our organization has decided to re-activate the Moodle learning platform which we have set up a few years ago, but neglected it until now.

The learning platform will not only contain the material for the Nursery program, but also the content for several other vocational programs in the field of gastronomy, sales and cosmetics, as well as material for independent learning of Slovenian language for foreigners, since this is also the target group whose members cannot attend face-to-face lessons due to their working schedules.

The project also inspired cooperation of Ljudska univerza Rogaška Slatina in other national and international projects in connection to digital competences, such as the Erasmus+ project, in which partners are exchanging examples of good practices in the area of using social media for developing competences, which are needed in the labor market. Another example is the Erasmus + project Mr. Winston, in which the partners are creating a very innovative tool – chatbot in Facebook Messenger, which will be used as a helping tool for learning English through the use of Messenger and which will be supported also by corresponding support lessons for users to learn English at home.

Another outcome of the project is a new collaboration of project partners in a new Erasmus+ project named Trans-flipping the Classroom in an Inclusive Learning Community, where the partners will be developing material for learners to learn theory at home and practice at school.
