The Westminster Health Forum will be holding The health workforce and delivering the NHS People Plan: leadership, staff wellbeing and professional regulation event in central London on Thursday 12th December 2019. The seminar will consider key issues surrounding workforce and leadership in health and social care and next steps for the Interim NHS People Plan. It will also provide the opportunity to consider the plan’s potential and issues with long term recruitment of staff. Funding arrangements for workforce investment will also be discussed.

The DHSC single departmental plan sets out key objectives such as obtaining the right workforce and ensuring it is prepared for all possible Brexit scenarios. NHS funding requirements and the announcement by the government of the planned increase of NHS funding will also be a major topic of discussion.
Delegates will debate further steps that could be taken to support health care staff if the NHS Long Term Plan targets are to be met. These goals include improving population health, reducing health inequalities and delivering digitally enabled care.
