Speakers will reflect on their own leadership journeys, explore their organisations’ experiences of fighting racism, and consider how we can make our sector a more inclusive place for all.
The panel will be chaired by Dr Ebun Joseph, an activist, author, and academic. Dr Joseph is a career-development specialist at RCSI, and coordinator in UCD of the first Black Studies module in Ireland. She lectures on race, migration, social policy and equality, and is Chairperson of the African Scholars Association Ireland (AfSAI).
The panel features three representatives from across the community and voluntary sector:
- Salome Mbugua, Head of Operations and Strategy with AkiDwA
- Veronica Bokeng Akale, Board Member with New Communities Partnership
- Owodunni Mustapha, Volunteer Ireland's Christine Buckley Volunteer of the Year 2019.
